To get the latest sources of DirectFB or other modules via CVS you need to issue the following command:

  cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@git.directfb.org:/git/directfb/core/DirectFB.git co -d DirectFB master

For other modules check git.directfb.org, e.g. to checkout LiTE (LiTE is a Toolkit Engine):

  cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@git.directfb.org:/git/directfb/libs/LiTE.git co -d LiTE master

You can later update your sources by running

  cvs -z3 update -dPA

from within that directory.

If you would like to contribute own code please do so by sending patches to me or the corresponding mailinglist.

When suitable, you'll be invited to take part in active development and granted write access.
