[directfb-users] Can't dlopen oqt video provider
I'm trying to install additional video providers. I've compiled
and installed the openquicktime lib (which seemed to go cleanly)
then built the 'extras' (DirectFB-extra-0.9.16) which deposited the
libidirectfbvideoprovider_openquicktime.so file in the the dir
shown below. For some reason DirectFB is not able to dlopen the
(!) DirectFB/core/gfxcards: Unable to dlopen
--> libopenquicktime.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
(#) DirectFBError [dfb->CreateVideoProvider failed]: Interface implementation
This seems like a curious error, in so far as it has the correct
path to the .so. Are there additional steps required to 'condition'
The broader picture is that I'm trying to learn about video
providers. I've looked through the v4l provider, but am having
trouble putting things into perspective. I'm guessing the code in
idirectfbvideoprovider_v4l.c controls the video display card side
of the system, and works in conjunction with V4L or V4L2 controling
the tv-tuner side of the system. Is that at all close to the
money? Is there any other information I could study to learn this
As always, thanks for any help...
